Change At The Top Of SS&C Advent

The Connecticut-based provider of financial services software and software-enabled services has named two new co-heads of SS&C Advent alongside the departure of Advent's former CEO.
SS&C Technologies has appointed Dave Welling and Robert Roley to head up the recently enlarged business of SS&C Advent as Pete Hess prepares to step down as senior vice president and general manager.
The reshuffle comes almost a year after SS&C Technologies completed its $2.63 billion acquisition of California-headquartered Advent Software (Click here for an interview with Welling on that acquisition). SS&C, headquartered in Windsor, CT, now serves around 10,000 financial services organizations.
Hess, who will be leaving SS&C Advent at the end of June, has moved into a strategic advisor role. He has been with Advent since 1994 and has served as chief executive of the firm.
“The Advent acquisition has been positive for our clients and shareholders and we continue to see lots of opportunity. Dave and Robert are key examples of a deep bench of folks who have expertise and passion,” said Bill Stone, chairman and CEO of SS&C Technologies. “We wish Pete well. He did an outstanding job for the company integrating the Advent acquisition.”
Following the takeover, Advent was reorganized into two market facing groups; Advent Advisory headed by Welling and Advent Alternatives and Asset Management led by Roley. Both will report to Norm Boulanger, president and chief operating officer of SS&C.
