Bank Of The West's North America Wealth Head Moves To Citizens Bank

Citizens Bank is replacing its outgoing president of wealth management with the former head of wealth management at Bank of the West.

John Bahnken has left his post as head of Bank of the West's North American wealth management business to become president of wealth management at Citizens Bank, effective October 5.

Bank of the West has been in the limelight lately due to its ultra high net worth drive, for which it brought in Steve Prostano in June to build out its business for individuals and families in the US with over $25 million in assets.

Bahnken is also known for his time spent as president of Bank of America's global wealth and investment management products group, and he has also worked at FleetBoston Financial.

He takes over the reins at Citizens Bank from Mike Millard, who is retiring after leading the firm's wealth management business for ten years. He will report to Brad Conner, vice chairman and head of consumer banking.
