The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the Americas.

Polar Capital Holdings
Polar Capital Holdings a specialist active asset management group, has announced that Dan Boston has agreed to join Polar Capital (America) Corporation in September 2024.

Boston is expected to be Polar Capital’s head of global small and mid-cap equities, leading a new specialist international small and mid-cap equities investment franchise, the firm said in a statement. Boston will also be the senior portfolio manager of a mutual fund that Polar Capital expects to launch after his arrival later this year. The firm added that it has always intended to build its presence in the US "where there is significant demand for specialist active managers with differentiated fund strategies.”

Boston, who has nearly 20 years of experience in international small and mid-cap company investing, most recently worked at Brown Capital Management in Baltimore, Maryland, leading the International Small Company strategy. Previously, he served as a partner and senior portfolio manager at Baird. Earlier in his career Boston worked as head of international equity and senior portfolio manager at Ensign Peak Advisors. He started his career in 2005 at Wasatch Global Advisors as a global small cap equity analyst.

Boston holds a bachelor of science in accountancy from Brigham Young University, graduating cum laude, and an MBA from Yale School of Management where he served as a research assistant to Nobel laureate Robert J Schiller.

“His significant expertise in the small and mid-cap sector will strengthen our ability to identify the best opportunities across the industry and further enhance our position in this area,” Iain Evans, global head of distribution, said.
