The latest senior wealth management moves and appointments in North America.

Robertson Stephens
Robertson Stephens Wealth Management has appointed D Ellen Shuman as a director. Shuman brings nearly 40 years of industry experience, with deep expertise as an institutional investor primarily serving endowments and foundations. 

Shuman, who is a partner emerita and co-founder of Edgehill Endowment Partners, an outsourced chief investment office, was previously chief investment officer of Carnegie Corporation of New York and director of investments at the Yale University Investments Office. 

Robertson Stephens oversees about $3.9 billion in advisory and retirement consulting assets (as of December 31, 2021), and has 13 offices. 

Fiduciary Trust International
Fiduciary Trust International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton, has appointed M Lisa Parry Howard as trust counsel based in its Delaware office.

Howard has more than 20 years of financial services and wealth management experience, focusing on trust account administration, fiduciary legal matters, risk assessment, trust account and corporate governance, and account compliance. She is joining Fiduciary Trust International from the Wilmington Trust arm of M&T Bank, where she served as a trust administration contract attorney, fiduciary administrator, and risk and corporate governance analyst. 

Earlier in her career, Howard was a trust compliance advisor for fiduciary and Delaware-directed accounts at PNC Bank and Vanguard Private Trust Co. She also served as trust counsel and compliance manager at Christiana Trust Co of Delaware.

Howard is the most recent addition to Fiduciary Trust International’s office in Delaware, with Anthony Smedley having joined as senior trust officer and trust counsel this February to support the continued growth of the firm’s Delaware office.

Raymond James
Raymond James has welcomed former Merrill Lynch financial advisors Steve Harman, Mark DeGon and Jake Phillips to its employee advisor channel in Spokane, Washington.

At Merrill Lynch, the advisors managed approximately $409 million in client assets. Together, they operate as Panorama Wealth Management of Raymond James and work alongside client service associates Jennifer Jones and Kaitlyn Harman.

Harman has been in the financial services industry for nearly three decades. He began his career in 1992 as a wealth management advisor with Merrill Lynch, going on to serve as senior vice president and as a senior resident director at the company. Harman holds his Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM designation and a bachelor of arts in finance with a minor in economics from Eastern Washington University.

With 28 years of industry experience, DeGon is a seasoned wealth management professional. He developed his skills during a lengthy tenure at Merrill Lynch, serving as an investment associate and financial advisor. DeGon earned a bachelor of arts in economics from Portland State University. Additionally, he is a Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM, a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor and a Navy veteran.

Following a stint as a certified public accountant at Clifton Larson Allen, Phillips began his career in wealth management in 2014 at Merrill Lynch. He holds a double major bachelor's degree in finance and accounting, along with a minor in economics from Eastern Washington University. Phillips received his Certified Financial PlannerTM certification in 2016.
