The brand name for the family office division at the US business was created less than two years ago, and the group says its growth has been "phenomenal."

Verdence Capital Advisors has appointed Nancy McColgan as director of its family office business. The unit is called Verdence/FAMILY. 

McColgan has more than two decades’ leadership experience in the wealth management space, most recently as senior vice president and managing director with Hawthorn, PNC Family Wealth, where she was responsible for the oversight, growth and direction of the organization in Baltimore, Washington, DC and the southeastern US. 

Additionally, she served in key roles with Legg Mason Global Asset Management for more than a decade, including four years as a managing director in their wealth management division. She also served as a senior client advisor and management committee chair with WMS Partners.

“It was less than two years ago that we announced the new brand name for our Verdence/FAMILY division and the growth that we have since experienced has been phenomenal,” Leo Kelly, founder, CEO and partner with Verdence, said. “But as we’ve always said, our growth needs to result in a concurrent growth in benefits to our clients. With that in mind, I can think of no one more qualified than Nancy to join our FAMILY team at this time.”
