US-Based Foundation Source Brings Back Role Of President

Foundation Source, the US provider of services for private foundations, has today named Salvatore Bucci as president of the firm, reporting to Robert Chartener, chief executive.

Fairfield, CT-headquartered Foundation Source, the US provider of services for private foundations, has this morning announced the appointment of Salvatore Bucci as president, reporting to the firm's chief executive, Robert Chartener.

Bucci has served as an executive consultant to Foundation Source over the last year, “streamlining operational management and reporting,” the firm said.

The role is new in a sense that, while Foundation Source has had presidents in the past, it has not for several years. Specifically, Bucci will be responsible for the firm's national sales efforts while overseeing operations and serving as its principal financial officer.

Most recently, Bucci was president of Home Partners Credit Corp, a privately-held US specialty finance company. Before that, he was was executive vice president and chief financial officer of International Fight League, where he raised $37 million in private investment financing following a merger. Meanwhile, between 2000 and 2006 he was president and CEO of Paligent, a company with investments in biotechnology assets.

Earlier still, Bucci served as senior vice president and CFO at DeGeorge Financial Corporation, responsible for a $400 million mortgage portfolio. He started his career at Coopers & Lybrand, a predecessor firm to PricewaterhouseCoopers, and later joined Merrill Lynch’s real estate and insurance group, holding management positions in finance and mortgage banking.

Bucci rounds out Foundation Source's leadership team, which includes: Chartener, Jeffrey Haskell, chief legal officer, and Page Eberstadt Snow, chief philanthropic and marketing officer.

Foundation Source serves over 1,100 family, corporate and professionally-staffed foundations across the US. It works with wealth management firms, law firms and accounting firms, as well as directly with individuals and families.

Besides its Fairfield headquarters - which is where Bucci will be based - Foundation Source has offices in Boston, MA; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; New York City; Philadelphia, PA; South Florida; Washington, DC; and Winston-Salem, NC.

In other recent news, in April Foundation Source named senior managing director Katherine Holbrook as head of business development covering New York and New England - see here.
