Northwest Asset Management Adds Investment Advisory Practice

Seattle, Mercer Island-based Northwest Asset Management, a registered investment advisor that offers wealth management services, has appointed investment industry veteran Carlos Obando to the firm.

Seattle, Mercer Island-based Northwest Asset Management, a registered investment advisor that offers wealth management services, has brought investment industry veteran Carlos Obando into the firm.

Obando explained the decision to move his investment advisory practice to Northwest Asset Management was one of "fiduciary responsibility".

"My clients want and need a financial advisor who can provide a full range of investment management services within a flexible open architecture platform; in addition to investment management, clients want help with their personal financial planning, retirement income, educational funding and estate planning," said Obando.

Prior to joining Northwest Asset Management, Obando managed the strategic allocation strategy for institutions and high new worth clients UBS Financial Services in Seattle, Washington. Before that, he was a vice president of wealth management and a senior portfolio manager with Smith Barney.

Northwest Asset Management is an independent investment advisor with over $1 billion in assets under management.
