New Deal-Making Service Called RIA Match Concierge Consulting Is Launched

A new product that combines technology with expert M&A consulting services for RIAs has been launched.

The Boston, MA-based consultancy, AmplifyRIA, and the Vienna, VA-based advisor matching service, RIA Match, have together created RIA Match Concierge Consulting.

Launched today, the new product is aimed at RIAs that are looking to buy, sell, merge or add advisors. It is led by the chief executive and founder of RIA Match, Mary Ann Buchanan, and Kathleen Asack, founder and principal of AmplifyRIA.

Its consultants will balance qualitative criteria with quantitative metrics to find “optimal” matches.

RIA Match's advisor matching platform uses algorithms to align indicators and motivators of interested parties, and AmplifyRIA will counsel RIAs during the process.

AmplifyRIA and RIA Match believe that, while certainly relevant, focusing too much on revenue multiple or deal prices may cause a “misguided emphasis” on those metrics.

“Philosophy and culture are just as important to the success of the deal,” the firms said.

RMCC provides, among other services: education on the RIA M&A landscape and expectations; oversight of the entire match relationship process; access a 2,000-strong database of RIAs; and an anonymous platform.

“Concierge Consulting offers advisors a unique combination of services at a value price point that is needed in today’s marketplace. Many RIA Match subscribers have asked for a more comprehensive solution in addition to the self-serve platform,” said Buchanan.
