Market Street Trust Corp Names New CEO

The family office firm announces new leadership after the previous CEO and president stepped down after 23 years with the organization.

Market Street Trust Company, the family office, has a new president and chief executive, Kara Garner Pass, who takes up the role at the start of April, succeeding Marianne Young, who retired in January after 23 years at the firm, 20 of them in the CEO and president role.

Pass previously worked at Ithaca, New York-based Tompkins Financial Corporation, a financial holding company, where she was managing director and senior vice president of Tompkins Financial Advisors, the company’s wealth management arm. In that role she served as the trust, investment and wealth banking leader for the firm, managing a team of wealth advisors, trust officers and portfolio managers overseeing approximately $1.6 billion in assets.

In addition, Pass served as the client experience team leader for Tompkins Financial Advisors and the innovation team leader for the holding company. Prior to her role at Tompkins, she was business banking team leader at M&T Bank in Ithaca.

Market Street Trust has shared ideas with readers of this publication about issues such as how to protect family offices from cyber-attacks. See an example of a conference discussion here.
