Franklin Templeton Appoints New Global Executive Committee Member

California-headquartered investment manager Franklin Templeton makes global appointment to help shape it's long-term strategy.

Franklin Templeton has announced that Singapore-based Manraj Sekhon (pictured), chief investment officer of Templeton Global Investments, will be joining its global executive committee.

In his expanded role on the committee, Sekhon will work with US-based Jenny Johnson, president and CEO, Terrence Murphy, EVP and head of public markets, and other members of Franklin Templeton’s team to help shape the company's long-term strategy, drive business growth, and oversee key initiatives that align with the firm’s mission and core values.

The committee aims to provide long-term vision and direction by bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise from various regions, to ensure that growth strategies are aligned with global market trends and client needs.

Sekhon’s expanded role is in addition to his existing role as the chief investment officer of Templeton Global Investments and co-CEO of Templeton Asset Management in Singapore, and he will continue to be based there, the firm said in a statement. In his capacity as CIO of Templeton Global Investments, he oversees over 120 investment professionals across 19 countries and global and emerging markets equity strategies. He has some 30 years of global investment experience managing portfolios on behalf of pension plans, sovereign wealth, endowments, insurance, family offices and private wealth, the firm added.

“His expertise and leadership will play a critical role in driving the next phase of our growth across global markets. This appointment reflects our continued commitment to strategically evolve and grow our organization by tapping into the strength of our collective global leadership to drive our business forward,” Johnson said.

The California-based company has over 75 years of investment experience and more than $1.6 trillion in assets under management.
