Deals Of The Day: The Latest In Wealth Management M&A – The Humphreys Group, Treehouse

The latest mergers and acquisitions in the North American wealth management industry.

The Humphreys Group, Treehouse Wealth Advisors
The Humphreys Group, a San Francisco-based B-Corporation and boutique wealth management firm, has merged with Treehouse Wealth Advisors, based in Walnut Creek, California.

This decision is part of a long-term succession plan, with Diane Bourdo, president of The Humphreys Group, setting a timeline of two to three years for her eventual retirement, according to a statement from her firm. The firm was formed in 1983.

"Treehouse Wealth Advisors shares our values, philosophy, and a deep commitment to individualized, high-touch financial planning. Together, we will enhance the services our clients depend on while providing continuity for years to come,” Bourdo said.

Instead of using a business broker to handle acquisition and succession, Bourdo partnered with Beyond AUM, a wealth management consulting agency, to explore a corporate match-up.

Treehouse Wealth Advisors is led by founder Julie Meissner.

The Humphreys Group will retain its San Francisco office while gaining access to Treehouse Wealth Advisors' Walnut Creek location. The merged organization will operate under the Treehouse Wealth Advisors banner.
