Deals Of The Day: The Latest In Wealth Management M&A – Focus Financial, Samson

The latest transactions, acquisitions and corporate finance moves in the North American wealth management industry.

Focus
Financial Partners, the US-listed wealth management group,
has agreed to acquire Samson Wealth
Management, a practice in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. It
is joining Rockville, Maryland-based Focus with partner firm
XML Financial Group.
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2022, subject to customary closing conditions, Focus said in a statement yesterday.
Samson was founded in 2012 by Mark Samson, who will be joining XML’s leadership team.
Focus said the the transaction will expand the infrastructure and support resources for Samson Wealth Management and XML. The deal will also expand XML’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Focus business model – a network of partner firms – has seen it operate from the US, Canada, and Australia. For an example of a Canadian deal, click here. Earlier this week, Bergman Investment Management joined Focus Financial partner firm Buckingham Strategic Wealth. Bergman, which is located in San Mateo, California, was founded in 1995.
