Citizens Financial Group has strengthened its premier banking division with the appointment of Lauretta Chrys as its new head.

Chrys previously headed the firm's retail banking unit for the New York market and will be based in Boston for her new role.

Citizens Financial is headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island and operates a 12-state branch network. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
