Benevides Joins Harris myCFO

John Benevides has joined Harris myCFO as president of family office services, a newly-created post. Industry watchers have been wondering where Benevides was headed next.

As previously reported by Family Wealth Report he left his post as president of Family Office Exchange, a role he held for more than five years, earlier this summer.

Benevides told Family Wealth Report that his new position is part of Harris’ parent, The Bank of Montreal's continued investment in servicing the ultra wealthy community. Based in Chicago Benevides will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Family Office Services team. Benevides said he will oversee everything except investment functions.

He is also charged with developing and marketing new, multi-family office services.

“John is highly respected throughout the industry for his insight and depth of understanding of the ultra-affluent marketplace and the family office services model,” Joe Calabrese, president of Harris myCFO, said.

Harris myCFO families tend to have more than $25 million in investable assets and $100 million in net worth, Calabrese said in an interview with FWR in June.

Benevides launched several new member services and greatly expanded the role of research at FOX during his tenure. Prior to FOX he was managing director of financial services for the Corporate Executive Board.
