HNW Client Confidence Surges To Three-Year High - Poll
High net worth investor confidence is at its highest level in three years, according to a survey by the deVere Group.
The survey reveals that 53 per cent of deVere’s high net
worth
clients are bullish about the investment outlook for the next 12
months.
Carried out annually, this year’s survey quizzed 311 deVere
clients
with investible assets of more than £1 million (around $1.5
million).
The survey assesses investors’ attitudes to risk for the year
ahead.
The last time investor confidence levels were above the current
level
was back in March 2010, when 55 per cent of the deVere Group’s
HNW
clients said they were feeling bullish, the firm said in a
statement.
“These people understand that, thankfully, we’ve left the
darkest
days of the economic crisis behind, and that in order to
safeguard their
wealth against inflation they now need to reduce their exposure
to
‘safe’, low-yield investments, such as government bonds, and
increase
their holdings of higher risk/higher return investments,” said
Nigel
Green, deVere Group chief executive.
In 2012, 49 per cent of high net worth investors said they
felt
optimistic for the forthcoming 12 months; 44 per cent said the
same in
2011.
The deVere Group is currently responsible for $9 billion of
funds
under administration and management with more than 70,000
clients in
over 100 countries.
